Produced Water Effluents Analysis in an Oil processing Facility is based on determine the concentrations of the Physical, Chemical and Heavy Metal properties of the produced water through experimental laboratory analysis. This is done by collection of produced water effluents from the inlet and outlet points of separators from an oil producing field. The results are compared with the international effluents quality standards as well as design specification. This work is aimed to ascertain whether the operations in this oil & gas producing facility is complying or otherwise with regulatory permissible limits set by Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Federal Ministry of Environment (FMENV)as well as other parts of the world before discharging effluents into receiving environment. This work have accessed the effectiveness of produced water effluent treatment and abatement processes at this field as well the characteristics of effluents and provided evidence of compliance and non-compliance with DPR and FMENV regulatory and standards.Measures to improve on the quality of effluents discharge where they do not meet regulatory standards, safeguard against liability claims are advised.
