This works makes an analysis of the production and marketing practices and the plight of the cardamom growers in respect of small cardamom in Western Ghats of South India from three states viz., Kerala, Karnataka and Tamlnadu. The work, based on a field survey, has unearthed several facts and as such it provides a clear understanding on the production and marketing practices of small cardamom growers in Western Ghats of South India. The study offers workable suggestive measures which have policy implication at farmers, support agencies, trade union and government levels. This study is useful to scholars who are interested in understanding the production and marketing of plantation and spices crops in general and cardamom in particular. This work could also serve as a guide book to policy makers of government and other agencies aiming increasing production and marketing small cardamom.
