Goats play an important role in the livelihood of large proportion of small and marginal farmers and landless labourers. The relative important of goats is associated with their wide distribution in the tropics and subtropics where they play an important role in contributing meat, milk and skin as well as providing some income and miscellaneous values such as manure production. Sudan mountain goats (Tagger) are widely distributed in many parts of the country yet they concentrated in Nuba Mountains of Southern Kordofan, Angesena Hills in Blue Nile and Jabel Marra in Westren Darfur. They constitute an important source of livestock products for the local people and are important source of protein providing meat and meat products. This is the only book highlighting their importance roll in Nuba Mountains of the Sudan and their management, productive and reproductive characteristics.
