Solid waste from the construction industry is a problem that worsens over time, affecting the environment and, consequently, society as a whole. When disposed of randomly, it silts up rivers and reduces the useful life of landfills, quickly exhausting the capacity to collect this waste. Solid waste from the construction industry is a problem that worsens over time, affecting the environment and, consequently, society as a whole. When disposed of randomly, it silts up rivers and reduces the useful life of landfills, quickly exhausting the capacity to collect this waste. Therefore, in order to minimize the environmental impact of this waste, the study aimed to analyze the behavior of industrial sand in the composition of concrete without structural characteristics. In the laboratory, it was tested in the composition of a concrete composite produced with a quarry crushing by-product to check the mechanical strength parameters. The results analyzed were satisfactory, where the use of 50% recycled fine aggregate in the mix resulted in a compressive strength equivalent to 21.8 MPa when compared to the matrix mix, which obtained 23.3 MPa. The dosage of industrial sand in the concrete composite was feasible for non-structural use with the replacement of 50% of the aggregate.
