A field experiment was conducted during kharif 2011-12 at Instructional Farm, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh to study the production potential and economics of groundnut based intercropping systems under rainfed conditions. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with thirteen treatments comprising of six intercrops viz., pearlmillet, blackgram, soybean, cotton, castor and pigeonpea with groundnut in 2:1 row proportion and their sole crops replicated thrice. The yields of groundnut in sole crop (pod, haulm, biological and oil yield) were significantly higher compared to intercropped groundnut. While growth and yield attributes were not influenced due to cropping systems. Among the intercropping systems, the yields of groundnut were not affected due to intercrops. While growth and yield attributes viz., plant height, no. of pods/plant, 100 pods and kernel weight was influenced significantly.
