The objective of this study is to understand lean manufacturing and its techniques so as to increase the productivity of the automotive parts manufacturing industry with the help of lean manufacturing tools and also understanding its uses and applications in various areas of the plant. For this study, Lean manufacturing tools like 5S and Value Stream Mapping were used with the help of the data collected in the automotive parts manufacturing industry. For increasing the productivity, a visual analysis was required throughout the plant where factors affecting the productivity could be identified and production can be reached to its maximum possible limits. The changes are implemented in the manufacturing plant from the in-house raw material to package and despatch under various cells and workstations so that the areas of development could be predicted.
