In developing countries like India, majority of the population is still dependent on the public infrastructure for their healthcare needs. Measuring and monitoring the productivity of such systems is very important to maintain and improve the quality of services being offered to the general public. A simple yet powerful methodology for the measurement and monitoring of the productivity of a public hospital has been developed by the authors. The developed methodology has been tested by implementing it in a district level public hospital. The methodology and its implementation have been presented in the form of a case study in this book.
