The present study provides insight about psycho-social adjustment of institutional children who are the victims of abuse during their their children.Further it provides detailed background information about institutional children, types and causes of abuse. An attempt was also made to study social, emotional, educational adjustments and children's perception about their parent's parenting modes.Such information helps in effective implementation of social policies and programmes that help in the alleviation of conditions responsible for child abuse.

Dr. Saraswati Hunshal is a Human Developmentalist, presently working as Senior Scientist,AICRP-CD project, College of Rural Home Science,University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka, India.She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Human Devlopment from UAS,Dharwad.She is involved in teaching UG and PG teaching since twenty years.
