A descriptive, transversal and prospective study was carried out in patients with diabetic foot ulcers who underwent deepplasty prior to treatment with Heberprot P, attended in the Angiology Department of the Clinical Surgical Hospital "Lucía Iñiguez Landín" of Holguín, as well as patients who were referred to the hospital's outpatient clinic and from Holguín province and neighboring provinces during the period from October 2017 to August 2019. The universe was constituted by the totality of patients carriers of diabetic foot ulcers classified as ischemic or infected ischemic type according to McCook and who are attended at the Clinical Surgical Hospital "Lucía Iñiguez Landín" during the study period. The sample consisted of 35 patients who underwent deepplasty in concomitance with local treatment with Heberprot P. The evaluation determined that the selected treatment is effective, reducing the rates of recurrence, appearance of new lesion, major and minor amputations in more than 50% of the cases.
