Autorenporträt
Donna M. Matteson is an associate professor in the Department of Education at the State University of New York at Oswego, where she also earned her bachelor degree and a master's degree in Technology Education. Professor Matteson has taught for 25 years and has eight years of experience in business and industry. Her area of expertise is architecture and computer aided design, and she has AutoCAD certification through Autodesk Inc. She is also a Master Teacher for Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and has provided graduate-level summer institutes at eight different universities. Professor Matteson has been affiliated with PLTW for more than a decade and has assisted with strategic planning, curriculum writing, and exam development. She served as a lead writer and reviewer of the original PLTW civil engineering and architecture curriculum and is a consultant and contributor for the latest edition. Professor Matteson was also project director for the current Introduction to Engineering Design curriculum, contributed the chapter on reverse engineering for Delmar's ENGINEERING DESIGN: AN INTRODUCTION, and has published research in professional journals and proceedings. As a leader in New York's Industrial Art to Technology Education transition, she is well known in her profession and has presented at national and international conferences. She currently serves as a scorer and reviewer of the New York State Teacher Certification Content Specialty Exam. Her awards include the USA Today All Teacher Team for two consecutive years, IBM Technology and Learning Teacher of the Year for New York and the northeast U.S., and New York State Senate Woman of Distinction. Professor Matteson has been a member of the New York State Technology Education Association for more than 10 years, has served on the Board of Directors for Technology Alliance of Central New York, and is a co-trustee of the Epsilon Pi Tau International Honor Society.
