Restructuring is the complex result of external forces - competitors, financial market fluctuations, political and social environment and internal forces - performance, financial result for the year, stakeholders' interests. The structure of a company corresponds to the particularities of the environment at the time. Nowadays, we talk about flat structures, team networks. Restructuring has the negative connotation of downsizing, disruption of organizational routines and links, loss of organizational know-how. However, flexibility in the organizational structure is necessary. Transforming restructuring from a reactive to a preventive strategy is the challenge of contemporary management. The present research aims at defining the link between organizational restructuring and project management. The project establishes a temporary organization within the company that introduces organizational change. Project management can activate the preventive function of restructuring.
