Development projects are the means by which development policies and plans are translated into practice and have a lion's share in improving livelihoods of the community. But, the implementation of government policies and projects in LDCs including Ethiopia often fails which would be possible if a more strategic and integrated approach had been taken. The findings of the study from the assessment of the three project parameters (cost, time and quality) indicated that most public sector projects undertaken by zone level public sectors are characterized by failures. The study shed some lights on the main causes of the project management failures thereby proposes some easing strategies. This book is believed to provide insight to development policy makers, political leaders, development program/project designers, development practitioners, donors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), researchers and all relevant actors of development practices for successful design, implementationand management of development projects that contribute to the livelihood improvement of the people.
