Hartel is a Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Head of the Department of Services Management/Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart, Germany. He is also a lecturer at private universities and a freelance management consultant, expert and speaker on the topics of logistics, supply chain management, purchasing and organization.
