Prohibitionism and the war on drugs is not something of today, as it spans decades and generations as well as different socio-economic and cultural contexts. Thus, drug use is often associated with violence, but illicit drug trafficking can be one of the main perpetuators of this "drug X prohibition X violence" cycle. What about young people who are involved with drugs? What are their effects on young people's lives? What is the historical and social view of them? What Brazilian public policies support Harm Reduction? Are these policies sufficient?
