Kiambu county is well endowed with physical and social infrastructure. There is a good network of Roads, Electricity (with a coverage of 60%), water and sewerage, stormwater drainage facilities, healthcare facilities, solid waste management facilities as well as a good network of educational facilities. This facilitation, together with its closeness to the City, increases the population in Kiambu tremendously. The high population in Kiambu combined with a big number of the working group (From the city of Nairobi, industries, institutions, and plantations) creates a high demand for housing facilities hence, prompting the County Government to partner with the National Government in its agenda for affordable housing. In line with the National Government's fulfillment of agenda 4, Kiambu County Government is desirous of providing affordable quality housing for its employees and the general public in line with the national government's Affordable Housing Program. To this end, Kiambu County Government owns various prime land of varying sizes in Kiambu, Ruiru, Thika, Limuru, Gatundu, and other trading centers. All land is in prime locations within the greater Nairobi Metropolis.
