The unintentional discovery of the old Mudejar suburb of the Arrixaca, also known as the site of San Esteban, has been the trigger for this proposal of musealization through augmented reality (AR). Given the opportunity to present a new heritage element that includes a part of the extensive history of Medieval Murcia, the applications that augmented reality offers in this field will be investigated. This musealization proposal adds to the inclusion of information technologies in current museography. In this case, augmented reality is the technology proposed for its ability to combine the perception of the physical remains of the arrabal in situ with digital recreations and augmented content that can be accessed through a mobile application. The satisfactory results of previous augmented reality exhibition projects have been the starting point for the development of this proposal, which aims to raise visitor awareness of the heritage value of the Archaeological Zone of San Esteban.
