Based on the concept of academic motivation, our work was first involved comparing the program with science education in France and the United States, raising the need for an update. The identification of problems related to learning physics in Terminale A was done through the study of the lack of interest of students towards this matter and program analysis before proceeding to a survey used to the state of knowledge actually acquired by students at the end of physics courses. The used tests revealed that the percentages of candidates choosing physics as a compulsory subject are not dependent of the year or the province. We conducted our survey of establishments who met the chosen statistical criteria. It emerged that students do not understand the significance and usefulness of the knowledge they gain in class, which demotivates them to learn the matter. The requirement of a good level of mathematics and non-involvement of teachers to show the applications of knowledge are the identified problems.
