The isolation and characterization of new proteolytic enzymes have considerable significance in terms of pharmaceutical and therapeutical application. A proteolytic enzyme has been isolated from the latex of Calotropis gigantea (L.) and it was named Calotropain-G. Efforts were made to come out with a conclusion regarding its usefulness in the field of therapy so that the enzyme isolated would have an identity with its biochemical and therapeutical application.
