Born into a military family, Gil Ortega, MD, MPH, is an orthopedic trauma surgeon specializing in the care of patients with severe injuries to the extremities and pelvis. Dr. Ortega received his medical degree and master of public health from Yale University. He has been married for ten years and has three children. Protect Hero is his first novel, and he intends to continue Captain Williams's adventures in future works, as well as launching other suspense thrillers.
