Tanti Sari resides in Palembang, Indonesia, where she works at a university as an educator and a researcher in language and literacy education. In the past, she lived in the United States for several years as a student. During her study, she participated in many activities held by the US-based Indonesian-Muslim community, where she met girls who inspired her to write this story. As an educator and a researcher, Tanti is devoted to developing transnational and multicultural literacies. Wendy Reed is an author, illustrator, educator, and consultant who teaches teachers and trains literacy coaches at The Ohio State University in the US. She has written & illustrated multiple books for children and for adults. When visiting Indonesia in 2019, Wendy fell in love with the people and the beauty of the country.
