It is difficult to realize national development without involving in purposeful, planned and well implemented education system. In this light, the youth whom the future of this country largely lies and who widely form potential labour force of the country should be guided towards realistic choice of career. Leaving them without proper guidance will lead to nations human and natural resources being wasted or underutilized. The work addressed the issue of proper guidance to the youth in areas of choosing economic related subjects that is; vocational subjects that may lead to self employment. The work was based on population of students of Bauchi state with a sample of 120 students drawn from four sampled schools these are Government Day Secondary School Azare, Government Girls College Tafawa Balewa, Federal Government Girls College Bauchi and Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School Alkaleri.
