After a long period of polish High Dukes, and two nominal kings, he was the first one into obtain the hereditary title of King, and for Poland the rank of Kingdom. Przemys was born to Przemys I, Duke of Greater Poland, and Elisabeth, daughter of Henry II of Silesia.
