Autorenporträt
Bette R. Bonder, PhD, OTR, FAOTA is Professor Emerita, School of Health Sciences and Department of Psychology, Cleveland State University. Dr. Bonder is the former Dean of the College of Sciences and Health Professions at Cleveland State University. Dr. Bonder is the author of numerous papers on mental health, aging, and cultural competence and former editor of the Occupational Therapy Journal of Research (now OTJR: Occupation, Participation, and Health). Dr. Bonder is also the coauthor of Culture in Clinical Care: Strategies for Competence, Second Edition (with Laura Martin) and a coeditor of Functional Performance in Older Adults, Fourth Edition. Dr. Bonder has served on the Board of Directors of the Occupational Therapy Foundation, as well as many community and professional boards, and was identified as one of 100 influential occupational therapists by the American Occupational Therapy Association as it celebrated its centennial in 2018. In retirement, Dr. Bonder helped initiate an arts and literacy program for elementary school children at the Sterling Library in inner city Cleveland, with a focus on promoting creativity and self-expression in support of positive mental health.
