There is lot of mechanisms proposed for these kinds of diseases. Altered secretion of adrenaline, serotonin, dopamine, GABA and other neurotransmitters may be responsible for this. Majority of drugs now available in the market used were possessing lot of side effects and results in neuro degeneration. So as a growing concern, we must take immediate steps to curb these diseases and find more useful drugs with lesser side effects to combat the situation in the near future.

Dr Selvakumar Duraipandi earned his Masters degree in Pharmaceutical chemistry from Institute of technology, Banaras Hindu University, India and subsequently obtained his PhD (Pharmacology) from LM College of Pharmacy, Gujarat University, India. Currently he is serving as a Senior Lecturer at School of Pharmacy, Taylor's University, Malaysia.
