The spread and growth of English language varieties have helped to promote and facilitate the process of globalization as it created the concept of global village and global economic world order. There is a tangible transformation of societies as people are not confined to their local identities rather they feel themselves part of world citizenship.

Abdur Rauf Awan ist Assistenzprofessor für Englisch an der Universität von Sargodha, Pakistan. Er erhielt seinen Master-Abschluss in Englisch von der National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, Pakistan, im Jahr 2008. Seine Hauptforschungsinteressen betreffen den Gebrauch der englischen Sprache sowie die Verbreitung des Englischen und die Globalisierung.
