In the year 2003 the first disability law; Parsons with Disabilities Act (PDA) was enacted. Some of these efforts have included inclusion of disability rights in the bill of rights, creation of National Council for Persons with Disabilities and Disability Fund. The disability policies have however experienced implementation failure due to lack of political good, inadequate capacity of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities and lack of awareness of rights of PWDs.

Zedekia Sidha received his master in Political Science degree from the University of Nairobi. Between the years 2010 and 2011 He taught at the Catholic University of Eastern. He has over nine year s experiences in program development and management in reputable organisations including World Vision and Netherlands Embassy in Nairobi.
