The main aim of this book is to analyse the contributions and challenges of the apprenticeship programme in the social development and employability of young people in situations of social and economic vulnerability. The research seeks to fill a gap in studies and productions through an interdisciplinary analysis considering legal, social and economic aspects of the contributions of the Apprenticeship Programme as a public employment policy in the perception of young people themselves. Through a field study, this book presents important information about the main contributions and challenges of the Apprenticeship Law in terms of social development and employability for young people, as well as revealing changes, especially in terms of broadening young people's life prospects in the academic, economic, social and professional spheres.
