The book begins by presenting the Latin American indigenous question, from the point of view of critically-oriented Latin American authors. Next, it presents the chronology of the trajectory of public social protection for Indigenous Peoples in Brazil to the present day. And finally, it presents the research carried out in a Kaingang village, which analyzed the scope of public social protection to satisfy the basic needs of indigenous people and to guarantee and promote their self-determination.
