Lake Douglas's previous books are Public Art Handbook for Louisiana Communities; Gardens of New Orleans: Exquisite Excess; and Hillside Gardening. He lives on historic Bayou St. John in New Orleans and teaches at Louisiana State University's Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture in Baton Rouge. John H. Lawrence is director of museum programs at The Historic New Orleans Collection.
