As a librarian and a Japanese teacher, Hisako Kobayashi is interested in Edo publishing, and Japanese language and literature. She studied Japanese literature and education at Waseda University, international education at SIT, library science at State University of New York at Albany, and Japanese studies at University of Massachusetts Amherst.
