Traditionally, the absence of pulp vitality and presence of an open apex require an intervention that aims at promoting apexification. Although it is considered as the most classically employed therapy, the permanence of the calcium hydroxide paste for long time periods may lead to the weakening of the root due to hygroscopic properties, as well as proteolytic activities of calcium hydroxide. Therefore, there has been a permanent search for alternatives which allow the full development of immature teeth. Revascularization has emerged as an alternative with a range of treatment protocols in the scientific literature. The novel approach of managing the immature teeth with revascularization has gained attention in present era. This procedure involves re-establishment of blood flow and allows the continuation of root development due to the ingrowth of the vital tissue. Most of the available case reports of pulp revascularization have been reported on the young patients who usually have the high stem cell population and on teeth with open apices. To be widely acceptable and predictable it has to depend on tissue engineering therapies to regenerate pulp dentin tissue.
