Initially, the only service to serve Punggol New Town, service 83, terminated and looped at a temporary bus stop directly underneath Punggol MRT/LRT Station. The route was amended to terminate at the temporary bus interchange when the latter was opened. With the opening of the interchange, Punggol Road End Bus Terminal closed. The terminal''s only bus route, SBS Transit''s service 82, was re-routed with the opening of the North East MRT Line.
