Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Punggol MRT/LRT Station (NE17/PTC) is a MRT and LRT interchange station of the North East Line and the Punggol LRT Line in Singapore. Provisions have been made for the future North Shore Line which links Changi Airport, Pasir Ris and Sembawang. The box tunnels are located under the NEL platform. This is unlikely to be built before year 2020 due to low density of living in Seletar (Which is in between Sembawang and Punggol.) The artwork in this station is Water, Landscape and Future by Goh Beng Kwan. The station was to have been unopened when the North East Line opened together with Potong Pasir and Woodleigh Stations when the government gave th1996 as Punggol 21 was still undeveloped then. But as more developments of Punggol 21 were progressively unveiled, the station was opened with the rest of the line in 2003.The operations control centre at Sengkang Depot was alerted to a fault at Punggol station at 6.09 am on June 22, 2003. Trains were disrupted between Sengkang and Punggol stations.
