Over the last few years, use of Glycerin has increased manifold times. Glycerin has many extensive uses, in different industries, starting from food and pharmaceuticals to rocket engg. Less academic literature exists on how to treat and recover Glycerin, produced as Glycerol during transesterification reactions. Glycerol is a value added by product obtained during the transesterification reaction for production of biodiesel. In this work the byproduct glycerol is recovered in impure form and is subjected to purification using chemicals by two methods. Qualitative and quantitative analysis is conducted to confirm the product as purified glycerol. Thus, purified glycerol can give large commercial benefits to the biodiesel plants. This work is aimed for utilization by researchers, industrialists' and traditional businesses. Apart from this it will be especially relevant and usable by the students of Food sciences, Bio sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry and Chemical Engg. for carrying outresearch in the recovery of Glycerol.
