This anthology was created to inspire nurses, future nurses and women everywhere to not give up when hard times come. You see, after the rain comes the sunshine. These ladies have endured some hard times, tough situations and unbelievable circumstances. At the end of it all, they have graduated into becoming excellent nurse professionals, who believe in the call that has been placed upon their lives. Their mission is simple: To help in making every life that they touch better than before. The women in this anthology are Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Advanced Practice Nurses, Doctors of Nursing Practice and Nurse Entrepreneurs. Raven Little is a native of Gastonia, NC where she lives currently with her husband, and four children. Raven and her husband have shared the joys and pains of marriage and parenthood for over eleven years. Health and well-being is a passion Raven has carried in her heart since her early years, and a motivating factor in her return to college. Raven graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC in December 2013 with an Associate Degree of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school, Raven served the community in the mental and home health care fields. She began her career working in a psychiatric residential treatment facility with the child and adolescent population. This experience opened the door to work within the acute setting as a Psychiatric Nurse Assessor and Charge Nurse serving both the child, adolescent and adult populations. With three years of experience under her belt, Raven obtained her nursing certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse. While working to service the mental health needs of the community, Raven also serves the community as a home care nurse. Raven serves as Director for a local home care agency and utilizes her education and experience to educate her clients and staff on health and wellness within the home setting. She continues to service the community in this aspect conducting training classes and health and wellness coaching to meet the needs of her clients. Raven believes, with all certainty, God guides and orchestrates her path leading to her current position in her life and career. With a natural entrepreneurial spirit, Raven continues to serve the community as a Professional Nurse Coach, Home Care Agency Director and Staff Training Instructor, and Licensed Training Provider for the American Red Cross. Raven serves as an active board member for the Support Our Youth Services, Inc., a non-profit organization in her community. On March 3, 2018, Raven and her partner Lisa Gray opened One Drop Health and Wellness Center LLC in their hometown of Gastonia, NC. The wellness center offers holistic products and services focused on empowering the community to take control of their health & wellness. Services include aromatherapy, vaginal steam sessions & practitioner training, AromaTouch therapies and training, nurse coaching, wellness classes, and CPR training.
