1865 - Following the Civil War, all Mike Zabel wants is to grow his San Francisco based investment company, love his wife, Molly, and raise his son, Jimmy. He doesn't expect his past to drag him back into a struggle with Russia's royal family. The Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna seethes with hate over the shooting death of her brother, the Grand Duke. She and her Russian associates make their way to San Francisco, bent on destroying the life of Mike Zabel, who she blames for the death of her brother. After the kidnapping of his wife and son, Mike joins forces with former Confederate office, Franklin Mosby, who has followed the murderer of his wife to San Francisco. Together, Mike and Franklin struggle against a criminal gang of train and stage robbers, a murderous cannibal, and Russian tyranny in order to find justice. Justice doesn't come easy. It must be pursued. Evil must be defeated. Peace must be earned… Pursuit is a compelling crime/suspense/thriller inspired by historic events following the American Civil War. If you enjoy authentic characters, accurate depictions of 19th century American life, and pulse pounding suspense, you'll love Thomas Holladay's PURSUIT: The American Way.
