Coumarin is a natural substance found in many plants, on the other hand pyridine ring present in many important compounds like azinnes and the vitamins niacin and pyridoxine. So the importance of pyridine fused coumarin is increasing trend to the pharmaceutical chemists. This book has been an attempt to elaborately explain the synthesis of large number of pyridine fused coumarin derivatives which are the core building block of Santiagonamine antibiotics from 3-amino coumarin and Goniothaline analogue from 7-amino coumarin or 5-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline. The present book contributes the literature to the different methods mainly aza-Diels Alder reaction, metal atalyzed cyclization and multicomponent reaction for the synthesis of library of pyridocoumarin which may help to evaluate the bioactivity of such compounds.
