O Dr. Jeelan Basha prosseguiu o seu doutoramento na Universidade de Gulbarga, Gulbarga, Índia, no ano de 2009. Mais tarde, juntou-se à Jawaharlal Nehru Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, Índia, para uma bolsa de pós-doutoramento. Actualmente, trabalha no Departamento de Química, Grupo de Instituições da Academia Indiana, Bangalore, Karnataka, Índia.
