The qualification of the public servant has been discussed for some time as a way to improve the quality of public services provided to citizens. In the literature are referenced the importance of qualification, the development of skills of the worker and the strategic management of people as a way to achieve the institutional objectives of organizations ensuring efficiency in the services provided. The objective of this work was to identify the implications in People Management in a Federal Institution of Higher Education of the qualification of the Technical-Administrative in Education server (TAE) motivated by the changes that occurred in 2008 in the Plan of Positions, Careers and Salaries (Federal Law No. 11.091/2005) which substantially increased the incentives for qualification.
