We then evaluated some phytochemical and analytical quality control parameters for some selected herbal preparations and developed HPTLC methods for quantitative estimation of biomarkers like curcumin, charantin and swetiamarin in some polyherbal formulations like Diabecon® (The Himalaya Drug Company, Bangalore), Mersina® (J & J Dechane Lab. Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad) and Madhuripu® (LVG, Ahmedabad). The formulation Mersina was finally also evaluated pharmacologically in diabetic patients.

Dr. P.M. Patel has completed B.Pharm from L.M. College of pharmacy ahmedabad in 1998. He has completed his M.harm from M.S. University, Baroda in 2000. He has completed Ph.D. under guidance of Dr. R. K. Goyal in 2005. He has recieved research project grant from GUJCOST, travel grant from AICTE He won first prize for best paper publish award in 2005
