This book is about quality in education. To be able to talk about quality in education we have to take a stance on what education is good for if we considerate it something good. I have personally a background as a consultant in education in ministeries in many developing countries that are committed to education as a tool for development. When we have taken a stance on what we want to use education for and what effects it might have for its goals, then it is time to ask what quality in education is, that is how we may evalualate if it is up to standard for its wanted goals.

Göran Linde é professor emérito na Universidade de Estocolmo, especializado em teoria curricular. Ele tem uma longa experiência como consultor residente nos ministérios da educação na Tanzânia, Moçambique, Sri Lanka e Namíbia e como consultor de curto prazo em muitos países. Ocupou o cargo de consultor do Ministro da Educação em Moçambique.
