The existing models of quality management in tourism higher education are critiqued and a focus on the student voice on quality is advocated as an alternative. The main aim was to fill in a gap in the literature and to provide a critique of quality in tourism higher education in Brazil based on the voices of students, how lecturers respond to those voices and the existing literature and models. In order to do so, two phases of fieldwork were conducted, one with undergraduate students and the other with their lecturers. The results were linked back to the key concepts discussed on the literature review to produce a critique of quality in tourism higher education in Brazil.
