To a certain extent, the term QWL has been used to describe a concern to rescue "humanistic and environmental values, which have been neglected in favour of technological progress, productivity and economic growth" (FERNANDES, 1996). This scientific collection covers studies with different perspectives on QWL, applied in the most varied organisational contexts and which were the fruit of research into Management, Behaviour and Organisational Competences, carried out by students on the Bachelor's Degree in Administration and Accounting, and Specialisation in Public Management.
