This book deals with quality self-assessment in higher education institutions. Faced with the need for prior accreditation of courses/programs or institutions, we have seen an almost widespread movement to submit programs for accreditation by the National Quality Assessment Council (CNAQ). The process that culminates in accreditation or non-accreditation begins with quality self-assessment, which we consider to be the key to the whole process of accreditation and quality improvement. For this reason, in this book we assess whether the self-evaluation carried out by public higher education institutions in Mozambique improves the quality of the institution, in terms of teaching, research and extension.
