This book aims to be the first to quantify a broad area of the Red Sea coral reefs providing a detailed description of species composition of corals on the species level and giving insight to the human impacts and interaction with other associated fauna and flora in the study area. The most important of these human impacts are oil pollution, phasphate, diving damage, temperature and sedimentation. Numerous indicators were used to refelect the effect of these impacts. Of these indicators are percent cover, abundance, diversity, bleaching patterns, fertility, damage assessment, coral growth and skeletal density. The study is an approach towards effective management based on appropriate information, knowledge and awareness.
