Bio-plastic is Eco-friendly option of the chemically synthesized plastic. Due to the environmental and health hazards the demand for bio degradable plastic is increasing day by day. This book deals with the search for the possible producers of bio-plastic from paint industry waste water. It was a great success that we have found good producers from our targeted site. The isolates were identified and the methods have been explained in detail. The quantitative extraction and analysis of PHB (a type of PHAs) from the bacterial isolates of paint industry effluent was performed using various analytical techniques like UV Spectrophotometry, FT-IR. The present study also emphasize on the effect of various carbon sources and time on PHB production. This book has in depth information regarding isolation and identification of bacteria for PHB production and also for the techniques used for downstream extraction and analysis of PHB and we think it will be really have its high impact for thescientific community dealing with the same aspect.
