Quentin Northrup Burdick (June 19, 1908 September 8, 1992) was a United States Senator from North Dakota from August 8, 1960 until his death in 1992. Prior to that he had served in the United States House of Representatives from January 3, 1959 to August 8, 1960. He was the son of NPL North Dakota Congressman Usher L. Burdick. Burdick received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Minnesota. Like his father, Quentin Burdick was a member of the progressive Non-Partisan League, which placed its candidates on the Republican Party primary ballot until 1956, when the NPL aligned with the Democratic Party and became the Democratic-NPL.
