„Quidditch through the ages“ is an addition to the magical world of Harry Potter. It is an essential guide to the famous wizarding sport quidditch. Beginning with the history we learn how the sport has changed and developed throughout time. But we also get to know the rules and some of the 700 fouls that currently exist. This book has been read by many of the witches and wizards we all know and is therefore one of the most popular books in the Hogwarts library.
In my opinion this book is not that special. I actually quite enjoyed the beginning of this book. It was interesting to learn more about the background of quidditch and what other games have been played in different parts of the world. But the second half of the book was kind of boring. It just dragged along while we read basically a list of of facts about quidditch. Nothing really excited me and I don’t know what I would do with all the info about the different teams (all but one are an alliteration by the way). It definitely is a nice little addition to everything we already know about the Harry Potter World, but some of it is really not that interesting.
If you are a true Harry Potter Fan you should not miss out on this one but if you are not there’s no real need for you to read this book. I would rate it 3 stars just because I really enjoyed learning about the history of quidditch.
