Mom and designer Alyx Douglas creates whimsical stories with the goal of introducing children to different cultures and their cuisines. She lives in Philadelphia where she enjoys going to locally owned restaurants featuring diverse and authentic flavors with her family. Amber Gayle is a Southeast Asian illustrator in Ohio with a passion for bringing colorful and expressive characters to life. She is a children's book illustrator and background artist. Manuel Román-Lacayo is a Nicaraguan American cultural heritage expert who has visited nearly every country in the Americas as a researcher and consultant. Having lived in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, he loves tortillas, gallo pinto, and champurradas. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, two sons, and a bunch of bicycles.
