Autorenporträt
Growing up in Whitegate, County Cork, Ireland, John Devoy studied medical laboratory science and worked in Cork University Hospital until 1985. In April that year he set out on his great adventure, in which he covered more than 33,000 kilometres in two years, cycling first to beyond the Arctic Circle in Norway, then south through Europe and the Middle East to Africa, where he continued to Capetown. Quondam tells the story of his journey from Cairo to Nairobi. Two forthcoming books will recount the other parts of his great trek. Today he lives with his wife Sara and their three teenage children, Oisín, Aisha, and Meriel, on their organic farm in West Cork, Ireland. www.johndevoyauthor.com
